Yesterday, temperatures were in the 70s and the sun shone brightly on Brayton Campus. It was a perfect day to pour cement for a brand new driveway. In the top picture, Chuck, Dave and Gary do the honors of spreading the mix. They are also helping to complete other rehab projects.

Huckleberry Finn
As students make their way through the novel, they add drawings of key places and events to the river map. To help students visualize the size of the raft on which Huck and Jim float down the Mississippi, Barb had students trace the raft's dimensions on the classroom floor. The raft's perimeter is marked with masking tape.

A sinister looking snow sculpture in Tremont greeted visitors for a day or so.
The new house in Tremont is being prepared for the rental market. Electrical updates have been made and new interior doors are being hung. Soon we'll start to paint. Good thing Home Depot just opened at nearby Steelyard Commons!

Snow in Cleveland
After a long period of relatively warm weather, Ohio received a great deal of snow during the past few weeks along with severe cold. But, as you can see, despite the onset of true winter, Augie still ventures out into the wilderness! Sometimes he even wears his red sweater. (The view in the top photo is out the back door of the kitchen--looking over the deck which is now literally buried in snow.)
