Cousins Camp 2014

We had a wonderful time with our grandchildren when they visited us in August.  We went to a nature center, a Crushers baseball game, the zoo and just hung out.  

They checked out CC's and TT's new pool, earned some "mad money" with a lemonade stand, and created some awesome structures with Carly's old pipeworks building set.  The entire clan was in town for the final weekend with the culminating activity at Mel's - a joint birthday celebration for Michaela, Nathan and Sami.  

As always, we had a blast! We are already looking forward to "Cousin's Camp" next year.

Happy Birthday Sami!

Sami celebrated turning 4 with a fun party at The Little Gym on Saturday.  Fifteen friends were there to help him and they had a great time.  

The theme was "Super Heroes" and many of the children dressed up as their favorite super hero.  Great job planning, Mel !

More pics to come.  With all the excitement we didn't get a picture of Superman Sami with his parents.  We hope to rectify that.

Gallery Gala

Jennifer and Myra, along with Melanie and Sarah outdid themselves in planning and executing a gala baby shower for Tiffany and Carly at a Tremont art gallery. The food and wine was great, with yummy macarons and fab cupcakes for dessert.  

Everyone was to bring a book, and three easels were set up so you could paint an illustration from your book.  It was a hoot,  and the finished paintings were unique and fun.

The flowers, food and beverage tables were lovely, just sorry I didn't get any pics.  CC and TT received many lovely gifts - the excitement is building!  The baby is due in early September, and Tiff is doing great!

Ah Aruba 2014

We spent a week at our timeshare in Aruba in June with Mel and Sami, Margaret, and CC and TT.  We celebrated Margaret's retirement, Barb's birthday, Jim going off the VOA board after 6 years, Mel's new house, CC and TT's impending arrival, Father's Day, and anything else we could think of.  Jen and Tom were at their Divi timeshare and overlapped 5 days of our visit, which added to the fun.

Highlights include:  the pool, the lazy river, the beach, iguana spotting and feeding, birding (10), hiking in Arikok Nat'l Park, caving, dining on the beach, ZeeRovers and Balashi Chill, snorkeling and the excitement of FIFA World Cup.  Hup Holanda!  Ah, Aruba.
