Put on Your Snow Shoes!

Today we made our way to Chapin Park in Kirtland where we put on snow shoes and hiked a few trails. Though very cold, the day was picture perfect--bright with sunshine. It was a marvelous walk in the park.

Barbara has her snow shoes on and is ready to go! Jim is ready too.

Beautiful scenery reminded us of how winter is a very special time to observe nature. Our trail led us down the middle of this ravine. (Click on the picture to enlarge.)

Jim enjoys a post hike warm-up--a cup of hot tea.

After our hike we stopped to admire the nearby Kirtland Temple. It was the first house of worship for the followers of Joseph Smith, Jr., who founded the Latter Day Saint movement in western New York in 1830.
