October

It's been a beautiful fall here on the north coast.  We did a road trip with Lo and Dave, participated in The Great Pumpkin Run, Halloween fun, and just hanging out.  And to top it all, the Browns are in first place at the halfway mark - gotta love it.

This might be the last fall for our ginkgo tree.  Ask us why...

Pre race pic before the Great Pumpkin Run (5 k and kids' fun run.)
Post race shot - check out Barb's first place (In her division ) medal.  Maybe being 60 isn't so bad after all.

This is "Trunk or Treat " at Sami's preschool.  Jim did a great job decorating the trunk of his car.
Sami makes an excellent Ninja Turtle - Raphael, to be precise.
And here is our hungry caterpillar - he's not quite sure what to think about Halloween.

We did a quick trip to Salamanca, NY and Presque Isle, PA.  Presque Isle is where the ships that Oliver Hazard Perry commanded at the battle of Lake Erie were built.  Later it was where they wintered.
Ezzie wore his Brown's onesie to a "family dinner" at Aunt Mel's.

We celebrated with Kathy, Jim's oldest sister (pictured with Margaret) to mark her 71st birthday.
And check out Ezzie's crazy hair - adorable!
Finally, here 's the full moon rising over CLE, leaving a shimmery silver trail on Lake Erie.

Fall Festivals

Two weekends in a row we were out and about with grandchildren, enjoying fall activities at local "farms."

The first one was with Michaela and Nathan at Cox Farms in Virginia.  The children had the day off from school so off we went for a fall adventure - we had a ball!

The following Sunday we took Sami to Luther Farm near Richfield.  This was a family run operation and it was equally a great experience.  We were very impressed with the pumpkin cannon and all the shelled corn used in the kid play areas.

Goat village was a big hit.  Goat food was put in ice cream cones - very cool.

Michaela LOVED the cows, and they both tried their hand at milking.  I wonder if Great Grandmama Lois still has the touch.

There's a new sheriff in town lookin' for some bad hombres.

We also were able to celebrate Jim's birthday in Virginia and Lakewood.  Here's a pic from the evening dinner.

And finally, Ezzie at 4 weeks.  He wasn't able to go to a pumpkin patch with us as he had previous plans. ;)
